Android App

When you first open the app it will confirm access to your Camera/Microphone.

          

When you first start the app you must allow both video and audio.

    

If you need to check your settings long press on the app, choose App info. The settings page for the app appears. You can check “Permissions”

        

 

If your permission for either Camera or Microphone is denied, tap the permission you want to change and select Allow on the setting to change.

 

iOS

When you first load Google meet you will be prompted to allow access to both the Camera and Microphone.

        

If you have not allowed access and need to change it go to Settings, scroll down to Meet and ensure Microphone and camera are enabled.

Windows 10 

Microsoft Edge

Each website has its own access permissions for devices on your computer. Select the padlock to show the permissions.

Check that Camera and Microphone are both set to Allow.

If you are still experiencing issues accessing your camera/microphone check your privacy settings.

Google Chrome

Each website has its own access permissions for devices on your computer. Select the padlock to show the permissions.

System privacy settings

Check your computer privacy settings to ensure your video conferencing browser is allowed to use the mic and camera.

Go to settings in the start menu with the cog icon, or use shortcut [Win+I] on the keyboard

Choose privacy (padlock icon).

Make sure that “Allow apps to access your camera” is On.

Scroll down to see the individual apps, make sure this is set to On. Depending on your version of Windows 10 You might see the app you are trying to video call with denied, change the permission to allowed.

Do this for both Camera and Microphone.

When you first go to Google Meet MacOS will prompt you to allow access to your camera and microphone.

Settings for website

If the microphone and webcam are showing as blocked you will need to change “Settings for This Website…”

In the new drop-down menu that appears below the address bar select Allow for camera and microphone.

Screen share

When you first screen share be sure to Allow “meet.google.com” to observe your screen? – Allow

If you chose Don’t allow but need to change the setting, use the change website settings, in the drop down Allow “Screen Sharing”.

Google Chrome

Webcam and Mic

When you first visit Google Meet you will be prompted to allow use of webcam and microphone. Choose Allow

After allowing in chrome MacOS will confirm this system access with its own prompts:

If you present screen in Google chrome apple will show the following prompt:

You will need to open System Preferences, unlock to make changes (using the padlock and entering your mac password) then tick the browser you want to allow.

This will prompt you to quit chrome for changes to take effect. You will need to reconnect/create to your meeting again
