Around 40 guests enjoyed an afternoon tea, accompanied by carols, at an annual Yuletide extravaganza staged at Bede Academy, Blyth.
Year 9 prefects served a selection of tasty treats prepared by the academy’s catering team.
The perfect ambiance was created by a background of Christmas music as the Bede Academy Choir sang a host of carols.
Resident Audrey Mullarkey said: “I come here every year and really love it. The food, the company and the children are all delightful.”
Prefect Lara Clark, 13, said: “It is really nice showing local residents how great our school is and we enjoy serving them their tea and talking to them.”
Bede Academy Vice Principal Steve Grant added: “The academy is at the heart of a very close-knit community and is delighted to host this special event.
“Many of the residents know each other well and have a great time together. Our choir performed beautifully and I love to see the interaction between the generations. It’s a lovely occasion.”
